What are Book Lists and how do I use them?

Our Book List feature lets you search StoryBox Library and save stories into a curated list. Once you've made a list, you can share it with anyone using a public link, PDF download or print out.

The most exciting part is that if you share a list with someone else who also has an active StoryBox subscription, they can turn your book list into a playlist within their own account!

What are Book Lists for?

  • Wishlists and gift ideas

Who can use Book Lists?

Account Holders of any subscription type can create Book Lists.

Anyone can visit a Book List share link, even if they're not logged in or don't have an account.

If a Viewer, library patron or SSO user views a share link, they have the option of turning it into a playlist within their own account, and after that they can edit it as much as they like without the original Book List being affected.

How do I make a Book List?

 

  1. Make sure you're logged in to the StoryBox Hub website as the Account Holder.
  2. Click on the My Book Lists button in the top right corner.
  3. Click Create New Book List in the sidebar that opens.
  4. Check the boxes under book covers to add them to your list. You can search and filter without losing your draft list. Scroll down or click See List in Progress to see your list so far. Note: stories are added to your Book List in the order that you select them.
  5. If you want to remove a story from your draft list, click the red Remove X part underneath the cover. If you want to start over, click the Clear List button.
  6. When you're happy with your Book List, click the Save List button. (Note that your draft list will be retained until you clear it, so you can create multiple versions of a list if you wish.)
  7. Give your list a name and click the Create button.
  8. Your list will appear.

Click on the My Book Lists button again at any time to view lists you've previously created, or delete lists. Share links will continue to work if a list has been deleted - this is to avoid broken links when the share links are used in social media posts, news updates, etc.

How do I share a link to my Book List?

When viewing a list, click the Share Booklist link at the top. This will automatically copy the address of your Book List to your clipboard, where you can paste it into emails, messages, newsletters, social media posts, etc.

How do I turn a Book List into a playlist?

When viewing a list, click the Create Playlist link at the top. You can rename it if you like, then click the Confirm button to save. Your new playlist can be edited, rearranged and updated without the original Book List being affected.

How do I download a Book List as a PDF?

When viewing a list, click the Download Booklist link at the top. You can either print it as a physical copy, or look for your browser's option to save the list a a PDF which you can share via email, or print later.
