What exactly does each Story Tools lesson look like?

Each lesson contains so many great resources. You get:

  • A high-quality video resource (6-9 min) to introduce the lesson topic to help kickstart kids' curiosity and understanding of the lesson objective.

  • A comprehensive lesson plan.

  • Pre and post watching discussion prompts.

  • Detailed activities to support each lesson.

  • Outline of intended Learning Objectives for educators.

  • Clearly defined success criteria for educators.

  • Additional activity ideas (for the speedy ones!).

  • Curriculum alignments and objectives in teacher lesson plans.

  • Fun bios of the creators.

  • Downloadable and printable worksheets and resources, aimed separately at Upper Primary children (Years 5 to 6), and Middle Primary students (Years 3 and 4) for classroom use. For libraries, there are downloadable and printable resources to suit children from Years 3 to 6.

  • Examples/exemplars of work so children can see where they are going, and what success looks like.

  • Reference posters and visual aids.

Some of the lessons ALSO include games and scavenger hunt-type activities. These invite children to explore different books to help find examples of storytelling concepts that have been introduced in the video.
