Onboarding guide for school staff

StoryBox Hub gives schools access to StoryBox Library (600+ Australian picture book stories with Read-Along, Auslan Story Time and First Nations' Stories) and Story Tools (video tutorials from Australian children's authors and illustrators). Schools set up access via Viewer login, SSO or LMS integration, and can use the platform for read-alouds, creative writing programs, library events and literacy support – all on an ad-free, ST4S-assessed platform that supports Australian creators and publishers.

Onboarding info for school staff

StoryBox Hub is home to StoryBox Library and Story Tools – two resources designed by educators, trusted by teachers and treasured by students.

StoryBox Library is a digital library of 600+ Australian picture book stories, with Read-Along, closed captions, Auslan Story Time and a First Nations' Stories series. Story Tools is a creative writing resource featuring video tutorials from Australia's best children's writers, illustrators and literature experts.

How staff, students and families access the platform

There are three ways a school can set up access.

Option 1: Viewer login Visit storyboxhub.com or download the free StoryBox Library app, then log in with the school's Viewer login (username and password provided by the school). This login is multi-user, so the same details work for everyone – share them with students and families for at-home access on any device.

Option 2: Single Sign-On (SSO) Staff and students log in with existing school credentials – no separate StoryBox password needed. The school's ICT team sets this up.

Option 3: LMS integration StoryBox can be embedded directly into the school's Learning Management System (e.g. Canvas, Schoolbox or Moodle) via LTI integration, so students access content without leaving the LMS. The school's ICT team sets this up.

Downloading the app

Search "StoryBox Library" on the App Store or Google Play, download for free, then log in with the school's Viewer login (or via SSO if set up).

Why schools choose StoryBox

StoryBox supports the Australian publishing industry by licensing content from local creators, and a significant portion of subscription fees goes back to creators and publishers. Content is regularly updated with new titles, including CBCA short-listed books, and each story comes with resources aligned to the Australian Curriculum. StoryBox is an ad-free, secure platform, assessed under the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) Product Badge Program in 2023.
